We are seeking candidates with a Ph.D. and 0-2 years' experience to participate in The Joint Center for Structural Genomics (JCSG) located at The Scripps Research Institute. The JCSG (www.jcsg.org) is a multi-center consortium and is one of four large-scale structural genomics centers funded by the Protein Structure Initiative which will produce between 100-150 novel proteins structures of per year. This group employs state of the art technology for protein expression, purification and crystallization. Postdoctoral positions are available to develop parallel approaches for characterizing active sites through studying small molecule interactions and for functional studies of key targets. This characterization will lead to functional assignment of genes and pathway mapping. Postdoctoral positions will have access to a wide range of resources and technology to apply to structure/function based research. Successful candidates will have a background in biochemistry or related fields. Must be able to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group and have good communication skills.
