New Grant

Paul Kenny and Patrick Griffin, Chair of the Department of Molecular Therapeutics, have been awarded a UH2 grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to explore the feasibility of establishing a Public-Private-Partnership (PDP) to development novel therapeutics for tobacco dependence. This would be the first large-scale federally sponsored tobacco addiction research and drug development center in the United States.

Luis Tuesta has been awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) from the National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The award will fund a project titled “Neurobiological mechanisms of nicotine reinforcement: Role of the nucleus tractus solitarius.”
