Web Sites Using The Name "Scripps"


There are a number of parks, museums, schools, medical, and scientific institutions that bear the Scripps family name. Many are the result of the generosity of Ellen Browning Scripps.

The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), the site you are currently on, has eight scientific departments to study all areas of modern scientific, biomedical research and synthetic bioorganic chemistry.

Below are web sites other than TSRI that also bear the name "Scripps".

  • E.W. Scripps Company & Scripps Howard Media, which includes over 20 newspapers, 10 television stations, Cinetel Studios, Food Network, Home & Garden Television, Scripps Howard Productions, and United Media (licenser and syndicator of "Dilbert").

  • Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the Birch Aquarium, part of the University of California, San Diego, is one of the oldest, largest, and most important centers for marine science research and graduate training in the world.
