If you have a work-related injury or illness, Workers' Compensation insurance pays for medical treatment and provides compensation to help replace your lost income until you can return to work.
It is important to report a work-related injury or illness as soon as possible. The following steps should be followed after an injury or illness occurs:
Between the hours of 8AM and 8PM:
The Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group provides medical care for all work-related injuries and illnesses. The Sharp Rees-Stealy facility is located at 10243 Genetic Center Drive. Between 8AM and 5PM, Monday through Friday, you will be seen in the Occupational Medicine Department; on weekends, holidays, and between the hours of 5PM to 8PM you will be seen in their Urgent Care Center. Both Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care are located on the first floor of the 10243 Genetic Center facility.
Between the hours of 8PM to 8AM:
Medical treatment will be provided at the Scripps Memorial Hospital Emergency Room located at 9888 Genesee Avenue. Click here for a map to Scripps Memorial Hospital.
In situations where an injury or condition is life threatening, dial "77" and Security will make the connection to the "911" operator.
As a reminder, please be sure to immediately report all workplace injuries to your supervisor and Benefits Administration.
