TSRI encourages employees to further their education by taking courses on their own time that are required for a degree program or are a job requirement for any position at TSRI the employee could reasonably be considered for employment. Eligible employees and Research Associates are also encouraged to utilize this benefit for specific wellness classes related to smoking cessation and weight management. Tuition for specific smoking cessation and weight management classes will be reimbursed up to $125 per year. Please note that smoking cessation and weight management classes have to be attended in person. Online courses are not eligible for wellness classes. The maximum yearly benefit for all other courses and fees eligible for tuition reimbursement is $2,500 per calendar year per employee. In addition to the individual limit, TSRI will determine on an annual basis (fiscal year) a tuition reimbursement budget limit. Reimbursements out of this budget will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis prior to the start of the class. A Tuition Reimbursement Form must be submitted to Human Resources for pre-approval.
Once the course is completed, the employee must submit proof of completion (i.e. grade/report or certificate of completion) in order to receive the pre-approved reimbursement amount. Please see the Tuition Reimbursement Request Form for more information regarding submission.
