All benefit eligible Scientific Staff, Support Staff, Research Associates, and Graduate Students who work 20 hours or more per week, and receive a taxable paycheck from TSRI are eligible for The Transit Benefit Account (TBA). This benefit allows you to save money on federal and state income taxes by reducing your taxable income.
Eligible Transportation Expenses
- Bus Fares
- Commuter Van Fares
- Commuter Railroad Fares (Coaster)
Transit Benefit is limited to $240 per month or $2,880 per year.

iCommute Rideshare Month October 2012
Coming in October 2012, TSRI is registered to participate in the iCommute Rideshare Commuter Challenge. This will be a fun way to support environmental/green goals and help save money by livening up your commute and utilizing alternatives to driving alone. Throughout October, try carpooling, vanpooling, taking transit, biking, or walking. You could save money, reduce stress, burn calories, recapture some time, and win great prizes!

Bike to Work 2012 Corporate Challenge Results
The Green Team is excited to announce TSRI is the first place winner under the Best Macro Company (2,001 - 5,000 employees) category of the 2012 Bike to Work Corporate Challenge! TSRI was in compedition with 70 other companies around San Diego County. Congratulations to all 32 of the Challenge participants who logged over 3,700 miles in May 2012!
