Business Travel Accident
The business travel accident insurance plan provides a benefit for accidental death or dismemberment while traveling on official business for TSRI. Travel to and from work is not covered.
- All active Chairpersons, Professors, Associate Professors with tenure,
Senior Scientific Directors, Vice Presidents, Sr. Vice Presidents, President
are insured for $150,000.

BTA Rider - All active Assistant Professors, Associate Professors without tenure,
Associate Scientific Directors, Scientific Directors and Department Heads
are insured for $100,000.

BTA Rider - All other active and benefit eligible employees and Research Associates
are insured for $25,000.

There is also a worldwide Emergency Assistance Program available through the Life Insurance benefit, which includes emergency cash transfer/medical payment assistance, legal assistance, lost travel document assistance and health care consultation. Please contact Benefits Administration for more information regarding this program before your departure date.
In addition to covering an accidental loss, TSRI has provided for a rider to the plan which provides coverage if an employee were hurt or killed as the result of acts of war (war risk rider). Certain countries are considered high risk and as such are excluded from this coverage. However, for an additional premium war risk coverage is available for excluded countries with advance notification to the insurance company. TSRI will continue to pay the additional premium for coverage in the excluded countries. Please contact Benefits Administration for more information on the excluded countries and the procedure to follow for coverage in those countries.
