While most scientists will be called upon to teach at some point in their careers, most graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at research institutes receive no training in pedagogy, the science behind education. In this four sesion interactive workshop series, participants will learn to actively engage students in science through pedagogical techniques, and assess the effectivness of their classroom strategies. The workshop series will culminate with the opportunity to obtain direct teaching experience by developing and teaching a short course for undergraduates participating in the Kenan Summer Internship Program at Scripps Florida.
