Research Focus

My research interests lie in the development and application of mass spectrometry and proteomics techniques to the characterization of biochemical processes and pathways that play important roles in human health.   In particular, I am focused upon

  • The development and application of HDX mass spectrometry for the characterization of protein dynamics
  • Determination of protein posttranslational modifications with tandem mass spectrometry
  • The development of methods for peptide ion fragmentation and their application to proteomics
  • The application of quantitative proteomics techniques

Education

Ph.D., Chemistry, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, 2001

Professional Experience

Post Doctoral Research, National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Tallahassee, FL, USA, 2001-2004
