Media Guidelines

The Scripps Research Institute is an independent nonprofit institution focusing on biomedical research in a laboratory setting. 

General questions for the Scripps Research Office of Communications can be directed to (858) 784-8134 or press@scripps.edu. 

Members of the media requesting access to faculty members or information about news stories relating to biomedical research should contact Mika Ono, director of communications, at mikaono@scripps.edu or (858) 784-2052. Questions about Scripps Research photos, video footage, and logos should be directed to Jann Coury, jcoury@scripps.edu or (858) 784-8245.

Please note The Scripps Research Institute is not affiliated with Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Scripps Health, or other organizations with the Scripps name.

Video, Photography, Logos

Video and television camera crews and photographers wishing to shoot video footage or photography on a Scripps Research campus must obtain prior permission from the Office of Communications. Videographers and photographers must be accompanied by a member of our staff when shooting inside any Scripps Research facility.

PHOTOS: Scripps Research can provide photos of research activities, campuses, facilities, faculty, and students. Appropriate attribution must be made on all images.

LOGOS: The Scripps Research Institute name and logo are protected under federal law and may be used only with prior permission of the Office of Communications.
