Postdoctoral Training

Currently in Florida more than 140 postdoctoral Research Associates representing more than 40 countries from around the world are working with the latest cutting-edge technologies.  Their work centers on basic biomedical research which includes; neuroscience, cancer biology, infectious diseases, metabolism and aging, molecular therapeutics, organic chemistry, and medicinal chemistry.  The Florida campus also focuses on the integration of advanced technologies and drug discovery, and offers additional research opportunities in the field of energy chemistry. 

The Scripps Research Institute on its California and Florida campuses is noted for excellence in research and is consistently ranked among the top institutions in the nation in graduate education.  The combined California and Florida faculty of more than 270 independent researchers includes:

  • Three Nobel laureates
  • Seventeen National Academy of Science members
  • Nine National Institute of Medicine members
  • Sixteen American Academy of Arts and Sciences members
  • Four American Philosophical Society members
  • Nineteen Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
