Wow Chemistry is a fun and interactive program designed to spark interest in science among middle school-aged students. Hosted by Scripps Florida chemistry graduate students, Wow Chemistry features a series of eye-opening experiments that provoke a sense of wonder.
Curriculum is designed for students in grades four through six and highlights the excitement of chemistry. Each program takes place at the Scripps Florida research facility in Jupiter, Florida, runs approximately 60 minutes in length and is intended to be offered after normal school hours. Each Wow Chemistry presentation can accommodate up to 30 students. Teachers and parents are welcome to attend. Transportation to Scripps is the responsibility of the school and/or parents.
Registration for Wow Chemistry presentations is open to classroom teachers only. As with all Education Outreach programs offered by Scripps Florida, Wow Chemistry is presented free of charge, but program dates are extremely limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Because of this, we recommend that all requests be submitted at least 30 to 60 days in advance.
To request a Wow Chemistry presentation, click on the registration link above, complete the request form and select a date you are interested in. Once submitted, your request will be reviewed and an Education Outreach representative will contact you as soon as possible.
