Scripps Florida Kenan Fellows High School Student Summer Internship Program has been created to expose students to a variety of contemporary issues in basic biomedical research, provide hands-on laboratory experience, and prepare students for continuing education in the sciences. In addition, it is committed to increasing the number of underrepresented students who pursue undergraduate and graduate programs in the biological and chemical sciences. Information can be found on our K-12 Programs web page, or click on the link above.
The Kenan Fellows Program for Teachers at Scripps Florida has been created to expose teachers to current laboratory techniques and procedures. Teachers will conduct basic biomedical research in a laboratory under the supervision of a Scripps Research scientist. The program emphasizes the scientific process, research planning, bench experience, experimental design, and data analysis. The program is also designed to create ties and linkages to working scientists who can assist teachers with curriculum development, and create opportunities for teachers to share information and knowledge with their peers.
