FAU-Scripps Florida MD/PhD Program

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) are collaborating on a dual MD/PhD degree option that is offered by the FAU College of Medicine and the Scripps Kellogg School of Science and Technology.  The program will combine the unique preclinical and clinical training programs currently in place at FAU with basic and specialty science courses offered through the Scripps Kellogg School of Science and Technology.  The MD degree will be awarded by FAU and the PhD degree by TSRI.   Details of this program, including information for submitting an application, are provided in the attached links to the Kellogg School of Science and Technology.  Students who are admitted into this program will spend their first three years in the MD program at FAU, then will move to Scripps Florida to begin the Ph.D. Program. Following successful completion of the first year of the TSRI PhD program, corresponding to the fourth year of the FAU MD program, the MD/PhD students will be awarded their FAU MD degree.  In subsequent years, students in this program will complete all requirements for the TSRI Ph. D. degree, including the defense of a Ph. D. thesis.
