RNA Dynamics
The RNA Dynamics group is a facility that handles data collection and initial processing of data related to microarray analysis. Microarrays or "gene chips", as they are also known, are basically glass or silicon wafers onto which are deposited short fragments of RNA and/or DNA. Putting samples taken from cells or whole tissues on these wafers, scientists can study such factors as which genes are being expressed in the samples, what the levels of expression are, and how that expression changes over time.
