Instructions for Teachers


1) Download the Lab Tour Worksheet and distribute two copies to each student prior to the event.

2) Please provide clipboards or other writing surface students can carry with them as they tour labs and complete worksheets.

3) Please ask students to leave backpacks at school as space may be tight inside laboratories.

4) Envelopes with student nametags and tour numbers will be distributed when you arrive at MySci. Please distribute and make sure students wear them on their shirt the entire day.

*NOTE: All visitors must be wearing MySci name tags in order to enter labs.

5) Ask students to wear comfortable shoes, as they will be walking to various points on campus.

6) All students must ride on bus with classmates and teachers.

Directions to The Scripps Research Institute

From South: Take I-5 North.   Exit I-5 at Genesse Avenue.  Turn left at end of exit ramp onto Genesse Avenue.

From North: Take I-5 South.  Exit I-5 at Genesse Avenue. Turn right at the end of exit ramp onto Genesse Avenue.

From both directions: Follow Genesse up the hill. Bear right onto North Torrey Pines Road. Turn Right onto John J. Hopkins Drive. Buses should drop off students on John J Hopkins Dr., across from General Atomics Ct. 

Guides wearing white t-shirts will be waiting to escort groups into the auditorium.

Buses should pick up students at the same location.
