Microscopy - Electron Microscope

The electron microscope suite currently has a Philips CM100 with low dose software and Compustage attachments with following two CCD cameras available for general use:

  • a Soft Imaging Systems MegaView III CCD camera
  • an SIA model 12C high resolution CCD camera

The preparatory facilities in the EM sectioning room include the following:

  • Leica EM KMR2 Glass Knife maker
  • Reichert Ultracut E Ultramicrotome
  • Leica EM UC62b Ultramicrotome
  • Leica EM FC6 low temp attachment

The wet-lab is available for individuals who wish to prepare their own samples for electron microscopy. As such, we are equipped to dispose of waste toxic EM reagents.
