Curriculum Tracks

The Kellogg School does not prescribe a set of required courses. Courses are grouped into five areas of specialization, or tracks, which serve as a guide for students. However students are encouraged to customize their courses based on their background and research interests. The five tracks are chemistry, chemical biology, biophysics, biology, and immunology. A standard track consists of four core courses and two recommended electives. Any course can be taken as a core course or an elective. Core courses are taken for letter grades, while elective courses may be taken for pass/fail.

Students can choose courses within one track for focused studies or several tracks for a customized or individualized program of study. Click below for examples of courses in both programs of study.
