The Annual Graduate Program Research Symposium is the Graduate Program's premiere scientific discussion amongst students and faculty. All graduate students are encouraged to give an oral or poster presentation.
The symposium has the following objectives:
To achieve these goals, the symposium closely resembles a scientific meeting. The symposium includes two poster sessions and sixteen 15-minute talks, which are judged by students. The poster and talk feedback rubric can be found here. The forms are scored and then distributed back to the student by the Office of Graduate Office.
The 2010 symposium was held at the UCLA Conference Center in Lake Arrowhead on October 3-5. By arranging the Symposium off campus, the students had an opportunity to immerse themselves in a stimulating scientific environment and build camaraderie that encompasses students on the La Jolla and Jupiter campuses and across the pond at Oxford.
